I. Overview
TOB NEW ENERGY was established in 2012, while the founding team entered the battery equipment industry as early as 2002. To date, the company has accumulated 24 years of deep expertise in battery manufacturing equipment and engineering. The company has long focused on providing high-end equipment and integrated solutions for battery R&D, process validation, and production, covering emerging battery technologies such as lithium-ion batteries, solid-state batteries, and sodium-ion batteries. It supports research institutions, start-ups, and large-scale factories in achieving efficient transformation from R&D to pilot-scale and mass production.
Over the past 24 years, TOB NEW ENERGY has continuously evolved alongside the technological advancement of the global battery industry. From early lithium-ion battery equipment to current engineering practices for high–energy-density batteries, solid-state batteries, and sodium-ion batteries, the company has been deeply involved throughout each stage. With comprehensive engineering experience, TOB NEW ENERGY provides customers with validated, scalable, and industrialization-ready battery equipment, as well as one-stop battery R&D and production solutions.
Through years of development, TOB NEW ENERGY has served more than 6,000 factories, universities, and research institutions worldwide. Covering the complete system from material development to battery R&D, the company delivers high-quality battery laboratory equipment, pilot-line equipment, and production-line equipment, supporting 80% of battery R&D system requirements and earning strong customer recognition. Today, TOB has become an industry benchmark in battery R&D and pilot-scale equipment and is a preferred partner for battery and material development.
II. Core Technical Team and Engineering Strength
The core technical team of TOB NEW ENERGY is led by PhD. Dany Huang and brings together multiple PhDs, professors, and national senior engineers, with each core member possessing more than 20 years of experience in the battery industry. The team has accumulated extensive expertise in lithium-ion batteries, solid-state batteries, supercapacitors, and materials science, covering the full technical chain from material development, cathode and anode technologies, metallurgy and chemical processes, to full-line production planning, equipment selection, system integration, and intelligent manufacturing.
Team members have previously held key technical and management positions in leading domestic and international battery and materials companies, with comprehensive hands-on experience spanning laboratory R&D, pilot-line validation, and factory construction at the 50 GWh scale.
Relying on this strong technical foundation, the solutions provided by TOB NEW ENERGY are not simple equipment combinations, but system engineering capabilities built upon a deep understanding of battery materials, process mechanisms, and large-scale manufacturing principles.
III. Industry–Academia–Research Collaboration and Joint Laboratory
On the basis of strengthening its engineering technology team, TOB NEW ENERGY not only develops projects independently but also continuously promotes deep integration of industry, academia, and research.
The company has established a long-term and stable strategic partnership with Professor He’s research team at Central South University in the fields of solid-state batteries and sodium-ion battery technologies, and jointly built a university–enterprise collaborative laboratory.
Leveraging Central South University’s research strengths in materials science, electrochemistry, and metallurgical physical chemistry, together with TOB NEW ENERGY’s practical experience in battery manufacturing engineering, equipment system integration, and process scale-up, both parties conduct joint R&D and engineering validation around new battery material systems, electrochemical performance evaluation, and key manufacturing processes. This forms a collaborative innovation mechanism of “university fundamental research + enterprise engineering implementation,” accelerating the industrialization of advanced battery technologies.
Meanwhile, TOB NEW ENERGY places strong emphasis on technology development and has become an industry–academia–research base of Central South University, providing internship and training support for graduate students.

IV. R&D Investment, Engineering Validation, and Pilot-Scale Capability
TOB NEW ENERGY has consistently maintained high-intensity R&D investment. Over the 14 years since its establishment, cumulative R&D investment has exceeded USD 20 million. The company has independently built and operates an R&D and testing center covering more than 3,000 square meters, equipped with laboratories and pilot lines for multiple battery systems, supporting material development, process research, and battery performance optimization.
The laboratory systems that have been completed and are in stable operation include:
● Coin cell laboratory
● Cylindrical cell laboratory
● Pouch cell laboratory
● Prismatic aluminum-shell cell laboratory
● Solid-state battery laboratory
● Sodium-ion battery laboratory

These facilities cover mainstream battery technology routes and support the complete R&D workflow from fundamental material research and cell structure design to validation of key process parameters. They also provide support and optimization feedback for the company’s battery equipment product development, continuously improving product performance.
Based on the laboratory R&D system, TOB NEW ENERGY has simultaneously constructed and operates the following pilot lines for scale-up verification:
● Cylindrical cell pilot line
● Pouch cell pilot line
● Prismatic aluminum-shell cell pilot line

These pilot lines are used for pilot-scale validation of new technologies and processes as well as small-batch trial production, helping customers systematically evaluate process stability, consistency, and manufacturability before mass production, thereby effectively reducing scale-up and mass-production introduction risks.
All laboratories and pilot lines are equipped with high-standard environmental control and dry-room systems, with dew point control capability reaching –50 °C. This enables long-term stable support for process and R&D requirements of moisture-sensitive systems such as high-nickel cathodes, solid electrolytes, and sodium-ion batteries.
At TOB NEW ENERGY, from early-stage laboratory development to A-sample and B-sample production on pilot lines, all processes can be completed independently, while providing effective guidance for product performance optimization.
