8 Channels Coin Cell Testing Board for CR2016, CR2032, CR2325, CR2450 - TOB-BC-8
Eight independent channels on one polypropylene holder. Test cables and alligator clips are ordered separately.
What the TOB-BC-8 Does
The TOB-BC-8 holds eight coin cells and carries all eight connections to a multi-channel tester at the same time. Each position takes one cell, seats it in the holder and is easy to load and unload again, which is what makes a batch of cells practical to mount in one sitting. Cells up to 25 mm in diameter fit, so the sizes a coin cell lab runs most often - CR2016, CR2032, CR2325 and CR2450 - all sit on the same board.
The eight channels work independently. A cell being loaded, removed or swapped in one position does not stop a test that is already running in another.

What Is in the Standard Package
The standard package is the testing board. Test cables and alligator clips are not included and are ordered separately.
This is a deliberate split rather than a shortage. The board side of every cable is the same 4 mm banana plug, but the tester side is not: a lab running a TOB tester needs the 4-pin bayonet cable, while a lab wiring the board into a third-party cycler needs the alligator clip cable. Sending both would put one of them straight into a drawer. Pick the cable that matches your tester in the next section.
| Item | Quantity |

| 4-pin bayonet test cable | Not included, ordered separately |
| Alligator clip test cable | Not included, ordered separately |
Test Cables and Clips, Ordered Separately
Two cable types are available for the board, and both are separate items. Each one ends in a 4 mm banana plug on the board side, so either fits the eight round sockets on the board, which measure about 4 mm across. What changes is the tester end.
| Cable | Board end | Tester end | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4-pin bayonet test cable | 4 mm banana plug | 4-pin bayonet connector | TOB coin cell testers that take the bayonet plug |
| Alligator clip test cable | 4 mm banana plug | 4 alligator clamps, two small for voltage and two large for current | Testers with screw terminals or bare posts, including other vendors' systems |
The 4-pin bayonet cable: banana plug at the board end, bayonet plug at the tester end.
The alligator clip cable, with the four clamps that grip screw terminals or bare posts on third-party testers.
Maximum wire diameter on either cable is 4.2 mm. Tell us the tester model, or send a photo of its connector, when you order. The board end is fixed, so the tester end is the only part that has to be matched, and we match it before the cable ships.
The four clamps come in two sizes on purpose. Voltage sensing runs through the small pair and current through the large pair, which is why the clip set works with testers from other manufacturers and not only with ours.
A board fully populated with four-wire alligator clip leads.
Board and tester linked by 4-pin bayonet cables, the arrangement the bayonet option is bought for.
Polarity Check Before the Run Starts
The board carries a built-in polarity check. Seat the cell, press the check button, and the indicator light comes on when the cell is in the right way round. A reversed cell is caught at the bench, before the channel is wired into a test, rather than after the run has finished and the data has to be thrown away.
Where the Board Sits in a Test Setup
The board is passive. It holds the cells and carries the connection, so how it behaves depends on the tester behind it. If you are choosing a tester at the same time, the range includes the TOB-5V10mA coin cell tester and the TOB-CT-4008Q-5V100mA-HWX four-range 5V100mA coin cell tester. Name the one you are buying and the cable ships with a tester end to match.
When the testers are going to stay in one place, the TOB-MPJ-19-MA-5 movable rack for coin cell testers keeps a bank of them off the bench. For runs that need a controlled temperature, the TOB-HW-200-160CH constant temperature chamber for battery test is the chamber in the same range.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do the cables come with the board?
No. The standard package is the testing board only. Test cables and alligator clips are separate items, because the tester end differs between a TOB tester and a third-party cycler. Tell us your tester model when you order and the cable is supplied matched to it.
Can I use cables I already have?
If they end in a 4 mm banana plug, the board side will take them: the eight sockets on the board are about 4 mm across and accept wire up to 4.2 mm. The other end only has to match your tester, so existing leads often work.
Which coin cells fit?
Any coin cell up to 25 mm in diameter. CR2016, CR2032, CR2325 and CR2450 all seat on the same positions, so a batch that mixes sizes does not need a second board.
Do the eight channels interfere with one another?
No. The eight channels work independently, so loading, removing or swapping a cell in one position does not interrupt a test that is already running in another.
Will it work with a tester from another manufacturer?
That is what the alligator clip cable is for. Its four clamps, two small for voltage and two large for current, grip the screw terminals or bare posts found on other vendors' testers, and the board end is the same banana plug as on the bayonet cable.
How do I confirm a cell is in the right way round?
Press the check button. The built-in polarity indicator lights when the cell is correctly placed, before the channel is connected to a test.
Ordering the Board with a Cable
Send us three things and the order can be quoted in one reply: the number of boards, the tester the boards will be wired to, and whether you want the 4-pin bayonet cable or the alligator clip cable. If the tester is not a TOB unit, a photo of its terminals is enough for us to confirm which of the two cables fits.
